Karroch was born a child of the stocks. His mother died in childbirth; his father, a farrier for the Last King of Slom, was trampled to death when he was five. Afterward Karroch was indentured to the king's menagerie, where he grew up among all the beasts of the royal court: lions, apes, fell-deer, and things less known, things barely believed in. When the lad was seven, an explorer brought in a beast like none before seen. Dragged before the King in chains, the beast spoke, though its mouth moved not. Its words: a plea for freedom. The King only laughed and ordered the beast perform for his amusement; and when it refused, struck it with the Mad Scepter and ordered it dragged to the stocks.

Over the coming months, the boy Karroch sneaked food and medicinal draughts to the wounded creature, but only managed to slow its deterioration. Wordlessly, the beast spoke to the boy, and over time their bond strengthened until the boy found he could hold up his end of a conversation. He could, in fact, speak now to all the creatures of the King's menagerie. On the night the beast died, a rage came over the boy. He incited the animals of the court to rebel and threw open their cages to set them amok on the palace grounds. The Last King was mauled in the mayhem. In the chaos, one regal stag bowed to the boy who had freed him; and with Beastmaster astride him, leapt the high walls of the estate, and escaped. Now a man, Karroch the Beastmaster has not lost his ability to converse with wild creatures. He has grown into a warrior at one with nature's savagery.

Wild Axes adalah skill nuke yang Beastmaster punya. Wild Axes dapat digunakan untuk menghancurkan pohon. Untuk mencapai damage yang maksimal, musuh harus berada di titik dimana 2 axe ini bertemu. Wild Axes juga memiliki stack amplification yang berarti damage dari Wild Axes akan lebih besar jika musuh terkena Wild Axes lagi. Call of the Wild adalah skill untuk men-summon unit dengan kemampuannya masing-masing. Di level akhir, Call of the Wild akan men-summon Boar, Hawk, dan Random Neutral Creep dari hutan. Boar memiliki kemampuan untuk memberikan poison (range), Hawk memberikan Vision yang luas (ward berjalan), dan Random Neutral Creep adalah creep hutan yang di-summon secara acak, bisa berupa Satyr, Wolf, Centaur, atau creep hutan lainnya. Summon dari Call of the Wild sangat berguna dalam team fight atau digunakan untuk taktik RAT.

Inner Beast

Untaps the inner fury of allies, passively increasing their attack speed.

Inner Beast merupakan skill berbentuk aura yang memiliki fungsi untuk meningkatkan attack speed dari teman. Karena bersifat aura, Inner Beast dapat diterima oleh banyak hero / unit sekaligus. Di late game, attack speed menjadi hal yang cukup penting karena semakin cepat attack speed, semakin banyak juga serangan yang dapat dihasilkan. Inner Beast tidak hanya berefek pada hero teman saja. Namun, Inner Beast juga dapat diterima oleh semua unit teman, termasuk summon dari Call of the Wild.

Primal Roar

Beastmaster lets loose a deafening roar that stuns, and shoves open a path to its target. All units in the path of the roar are damaged, while units shoved aside by the roar have their movement and attack speed slowed. Additionally, Beastmaster and his units gain 30% movement speed for 3 seconds. Upgradable by Aghanim's Scepter.

• Level 2 – Memberikan damage sebesar 225, stun pada initial target selama 3.5 detik, slow di jalur Primal Roar selama 3 detik dengan movement slow 50% dan attack slow 50. Perlu 175 mana cost dan cooldown 75 detik
• Level 3 – Memberikan damage sebesar 300, stun pada initial target selama 4 detik, slow di jalur Primal Roar selama 4 detik dengan movement slow 50% dan attack slow 50. Perlu 200 mana cost dan cooldown 70 detik

Primal Roar adalah skill disable dengan efek stun dan slow yang dimiliki oleh Beastmaster. Cast range dari Primal Roar cukup jauh sehingga Beastmaster berada di posisi yang aman. Primal Roar juga dapat menembus spell immune meskipun hanyak stun-nya saja yang masuk. Ketika Primal Roar aktif, akan tercipta jalur antara Beastmaster dengan target Primal Roar. Jika ada musuh di jalur tersebut, mereka akan terkena knockback, efek slow, dan damage sedangkan target Primal Roar akan terkena efek stun dan damage. Jadi, Primal Roar dapat digunakan untuk men-disable dan ganking musuh serta mengacaukan formasi dari tim lawan.
